Road Trip 2-28-12

On Sunday, February 26th, I landed at the Mesa Airport.  Mom picked me up and took me to her house.  We finished loading her car, and were ready for the Road Trip.  My Mom is moving back to Idaho.  We went to Susan and Mike's to hang out with them for awhile.  Then we drove to Queen Creek to visit Cole, Alicia and the kids.  We played games and had a delicious Chinese dinner.  Mom wanted to see them before she left Arizona.  Then we went back to Susan's to spend the night.
This is Susan's kids sending us off Monday morning (February 27th).  Susan cooked us a yummy breakfast, then we left around 7:30am.  We traveled through Las Vegas onto Salt Lake.  We arrived at Brock and Carries's about 7:00pm.  Lucky for us, the snow didn't show up until we made it to Brock's.  Brock and Carrie had a yummy dinner waiting for us.  Mom got to see her newest great-grandbaby, Payton.
Tuesday morning  (February 28th), Brock cooked us a delicious breakfast.  The best thing was Payton gave us the cutest smiles.  We left Salt Lake City about 10:00am.  The roads were great and it was snowing just a little bit until Brigham City.
You can guess where we ate lunch.  Yep, at Maddox!  It is always a good idea to eat here.
I finally got Mom home around 4:00.  It is nice to have her back in Idaho!

Aprons 2-21-12

I have been sewing again.  I found these great fabrics at Poter's, on sale!
I have a cute apron pattern that I have been wanting to try, it is called "Twirl Girl".  I thought it was so cute!.
Here is the finished project.  I gave the red and white one away already as a gift.  I am very happy with the finished product.  By the way, the one on the right is mine, the yellow one is for a gift too.  I have decided that when I make fun things for gifts, I include one for myself.  That way I get to enjoy it too!

Snowshoeing! 2-18-12

Clinton got snowshoes for Christmas.  Then I discovered that our good friends, Mike and Angie Lewis go on a regular basis.  I asked them if they would go with us and show us how.
So on Saturday we drove up to the Island Park Dam and unloaded.  It turned out to be an awesome day!  It snowed most of the day.  For lunch we stopped and built a fire and roasted hot dogs.  I have been reminded just how out of shape I really am.  With that said, I did have a really great time!   I told Clinton that I would like to go again.  It is fun to try out new things!

It's been a year. 2-17-12

One year ago today, Clinton's Mom passed away.  He called me and asked me to get something to put on the headstone.  As I was thinking about what reminded me of her, I thought of teddy bears.  She had them all over her house.  So I found this little cutie and added a heart saying "We miss you and we love you!" for him to hold.
I have come to realize the tender mercies Heavenly Father gave us during the last few weeks of her life.
     1.  I was able to come to terms with my relationship with her a week before she died, I was at peace.
     2.  We were able to be with her when she passed.
     3.  Millie and I were doing what she loved when she had her stroke.  Getting her hair done, Having lunch and Shopping
     4.  Because she was in Arizona when this happened, she was able to get the best care at the Good Sam's Stroke Center.
She was a good woman and I have been so blessed to know her.  We miss her alot.

Bowling 2-16-12

Today I went bowling, like I do every Thursday.  This is one hobby that I really enjoy.  I figured it out, I have been bowling since my daughter Chelsi was 1 year old.  She is 21, and I took two years off when I moved to Arizona, so I have been bowling for 17 years.  When I started my average was just 102.  Now I am right around 150.  It is nice to see I have improved.  My all time high game has been 236.                                   When I came back from Arizona, I immediately got a team going again.  Pam Blackburn, Michelle Parkinson and Jody Andreasen is our 4th member.  I have notice that not bowling for 2 years has taken its toll.  At the first of this year my average was in the 120's.  Now that we are half way through the season I am back to were I was before I left.  I feel like my old self again.  Today was the best day yet.  I bowled a 172, 150 and 182.  I had a 509 series.  This was awesome!
For Christmas I got some new bowling shoes.  My old ones were 19 years old and the sole finally came off.  I have loved being on the Early Risers League this year.  I like being good at something.  This has been alot of fun.

Can I just say WOW! 2-14-12

Just look at my new chair!  I am so excited with how it turned out!  It has met all my expectations!
CAN I JUST SAY WOW!!!

Valentine's Day 2-14-12

This is my awesome, thoughtful and most wonderful husband, Clinton.  I have been noticing lately all the nice things he does for me.  They are just little things, but they all add up.  For instance, just last night we were at a ball game and he went to get a hot dog.  Without me asking for anything, he comes back with a jamba juice for me.  He is always thinking of me.
When I came home, I found this on my dining room table.
I just love how he used the M & M's for confetti!  Like I said, he is one thoughtful husband!  Today, 30 years ago, Clinton asked me to marry him.  I am glad I said yes!

Chiz's 2-11-12

This is one of our most favorite places to eat!  It is located in St. Anthony, Idaho.  It is more than an eating place, it is an experience.  Usually when you get here, all the seats are full.  So you stand around the wall, with the other customers who are waiting, until seats become available and you can sit down.  Everyone is really good about taking their turn.  Sometimes if you know the people that are eating and you are standing behind them, you can visit with them. When you finally get to order and then receive your food, it is all worth it.  I haven't had a bad meal yet.  My favorite thing to get is the 4 piece shrimp dinner with baked potato and garlic toast.  Tonight I stepped out of my box.  I ordered Alaskan King Crab Legs, baked potato and garlic toast.  I was not disappointed.  Clinton got the Shrimp Stacker meal.  While we ate, we got to visit with the people who were eating and the ones standing behind us.  What a fun place to go!  Since it is Valentines Weekend, we had desert at Cold Stone.  To finish of our fun evening we played Pinochle with Pam and Ivan.

New Additions! 2-10-12

I have been having a little creative fun!  I want to show you what I have been up too!
I got my kitchen chair reupholstered!  I just love the new fabric!
I finally found a rug big enough and in the colors I wanted.  This looks great under the dining room table and chairs!
I copied my daughter-in-law, Alicia.  I didn't want to mess around with blinds, so I chose these great red curtains to cover the sliding glass door.
Today I found this great addition to my coffee table in my living room!  As you can tell, I just love polka dots!  This is great therapy for me!

Kaden & Emma 2-4-12

Our grandkids, Kaden and Emma just spent a week with us!  It was a week of playing hard and doing lots of fun things!  I will miss them when they go home!
They think the Rexburg Temple is "their" Temple.  They wanted to go visit.
We went to Millhollow to get some yummy yogurt.

Because my favorite thing is to bake with the grandkids, this is what we made.  We took some of the cookies to Grandpa at work.

We made heart shaped sandwiches and heart shaped gingerbread.

We are riding on the Polar Express train, Kaden is the driver.

Our favorite game to play is Candy Land!

We had hot chocolate after a fun day playing in the snow.

Kaden loves to swing.

Emma does too.

Kaden the climber.

Emma loves to slide

The funnest of all was sledding down the hill at the school!

We had a great time!

This is our snowman.  Kaden wanted to find a magic hat to put on him!
