Payton James Arnold 1-26-12

This is who I spent last week with: Brock, Carrie and Payton. We had a fun week together. One of the great perks of being a grandma is to get to know the newest member of our family. I kept reminding him that I am "Grandma". He seemed to be really studying my face when I held him. I got to help Brock and Carrie out by cooking, cleaning, changing diapers and holding Payton. Not a back week.I told Brock and Carrie that I needed to update their picture on the wall. So here it is. By the way, I do believe he smiled at me when I was there. That was a great reward for being there.

Celebrating Cheyanna January 20 & 21, 2012

Our grand daughter, Cheyanna, turned 9 in December. So this weekend is her birthday sleepover. I told her to think about the things she wanted to do went she got here. The first thing she wanted to do was to play Pass the Pigs. She really loves this game. These were some of the other games we played.
She wanted to cook with me also. So we made Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. We took a bunch of them over to Grandpa at his work and shared with the other employees. We also make pancakes for breakfast.
We watched these fun movies.
She started talking about how she drove past a cemetery and started thinking about Grandma Millie. She wanted to see her headstone and where she was buried. This is at the little cemetery in Plano.
Cheyanna's favorite game to play this time was Headbands. As you can see it was a hoot. You had to try and guess what you were by asking questions.
Cheyanna wanted her hair curly, so Chelsi took the time to make her beautiful.
She is a beautiful girl!
Then Cheyanna wanted to paint Chelsi's and my fingernails. She actually did a good job.
She wanted to see the movie Chipwrecked. Grandpa came with us. It was a funny movie.
After the movie, we went to Fong's for dinner. Then to Kiwi Loco for desert. The weekend went so fast. She didn't want it to end. We had a great time with her. It was fun to have Cole here too.

Chelsi's Birthday Party 1-7-12

Chelsi's birthday is January 11. She will turn 21 this year. Clinton and I went to Salt Lake to celebrate with her. Clinton has just got back from Florida and Hogwarts, so her presents had the Harry Potter theme. Clinton has bought her a Griffendor Scarf and a wand. She was so excited! That night we had her birthday dinner at The Roof Restaurant in downtown Salt Lake City. Brock,Carrie and Hailey joined the party. The food was delicious! The atmosphere was amazing!
The view was beautiful. You can see the Salt Lake Temple in the back ground.
Pictured here is Me, Hailey Egbert, Chelsi and Carrie. It was fun to celebrate Chelsi!

Surprise! 1-5-12

What a surprise it was when Ramonda Furness called and asked me to be in the Food Stuff section of the newspaper. Funny thing is, she said someone requested me and my recipes. This has caused me to laugh for a few days. Anyway, I said yes. I had to come up with 7 recipes and have something made to show when she gets here. I asked my kids and Clinton to tell me what their favorite dishes are. 1. Brownie Trifle ( Better known as Better than Sex Cake) 2. Hot Taco Rice 3. Clam Chowder 4. Broccoli, Chicken and Cheese 5. Whole Wheat Bread 6. Razzle Apple Streusel Bars 7. Chicken EnchiladasWhen Ramonda came over, I asked her to take my picture with my camera so I could blog it. She wanted me serving up the desert.
This Brownie Trifle got the most votes from my family. I have had people ask for this recipe through the years. It is as yummy as it looks!

New Year's Eve 2011

Happy New Year! Good-bye to 2011 and Hello to 2012! What an eventful year we have had. We have come to realize that Heavenly Father is in charge of our lives. We have found that if we follow him and rely on his timing, our lives go alot smoother. We are grateful for the good times and also the trials we have had. We have grown so much. At this time of year, I pause and reflect on creating possibilities and how well I have done this past year. I have to say, I have enjoyed blogging! It has been a creative outlet for me. This is one possibility that I created for 2011 that I have seen through to the end. What a blessing it has been in my life. Last night we rang in the New Year with family and friends. We played "Barnyard Rummy" and "Bunco". We had good food and just enjoyed each others company. Clinton made jalapeno deviled eggs. Wow! They were the hit of the party!
We have enjoyed the direction our life has taken and are grateful to be here. We look forward to 2012 and all the possibilities before us!
