A Proud Moment. June 22, 2015

As Chelsi said, this is a proud Mother Moment for me.

Let me start at the beginning.  Chelsi was up visiting a few weeks ago and told me she was taking me to lunch at Applebee's.  We were driving on the country rode by the new Madison High School when she got pulled over.  When they brought her licence and registration back, he told her there was a warrant out for her arrest.  It was something that happened in Utah in 2012.  He told her he would not fine her, and if she took care of things there she would not have to go to court. When she got back to Utah, she called and found out it was for a speeding ticket and that she did not pay the fine.  They tried to send her letters, but she moved and never got them.  That is why she forgot and never paid for it.  So she took care of it and paid over the phone.  They sent the letter to me so I could show the judge.  Because of miscommunication between her and Stepen Zollinger, I showed up at her court hearing to show that she took care of things, but they said I could not come in for her.  After calling Stephen and him getting more information, he agreed and they rescheduled her for next week.  In the meantime Chelsi was to call a certain attorney to see if he could drop the charges.
Chelsi came home, but the attorney never returned her phone calls.  So today we went to the court house to visit with the people about the court hearing and then we found the attorney.  Luckily, because Stepehen had visited with him, he helped us to see the magnitude of the problem.  The charge was in the catagorie of DUI's and Driving without Privelages.  She could have seen jail time.  Wow!  we just didn't know.  Then he dropped the charges.  We still had to go to the Police Station and get her finger prints taken and a mug shot.

A note! June 20, 2015

Thes lovely girls are just two of my young women.

Brynn Palmer and Audrey Arnold (my niece).

The other day I was baking and needed more sugar, so I opened the drawer where I keep it and I found this note.  I have no idea when she borrowed, but I found this note hilarious!  I am glad she feels comfortable enough to borrow and leave a note.

For Young Women's tonight, we did a service car wash.  These lovely ladies were in my car.  This year the theme is "Embark in the Service of God".

Michelle Luke, Ashley Bingham, Kalli Bingham and Ayano ( a foreign exchange student) had such a fun time  We washed Michelle Eaten's car, Nakia Mattson's and Rochelle Hymas' car.  I have found that these girls give service happily.

Our maiden voyage of the new boat. June 12, 2015

We bought a new boat!  Our intent is to have fun with the Grandkids!  This is our maiden voyage!

Carrie and Brock are enjoying the outing also.  We stopped at Big Judd's for lunch after.

Visiting Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts May 2015

Janet and I had a sisters trip back East.  We visited Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts.

My flight took me through the Chicago Airport.  I had about a 3 hour layover so I decided to find a good place to eat.  I stumbled onto this little gem and decided to eat here.  I had the butternut squash soup.  It was soooo delicious!  I couldn't believe I found this fancy of a restaurant in an airport.

Today,  we visited the birthplace of Joseph Smith.

The sister missionary told us that at Dartmouth College they had a 1st edition Book of Mormon that we could look at.  We were able to go check it out because the College was close to our hotel.

Tonight we attended the King Arthur Cooking School.

Janet and I in baking mode.

I can now make a lemon tart!  It was absolutely delicious!  I am now on the hunt for a tart pan.

We also made these little Madeline's!  The theme of the class was "lemon".  These were also delicious!

We attended this Women's Conference in Boston, Mass.  At the opening event, we listened to Stephanie Neilson speak.  She was very good.  Also Elder Jeffery R. Holland dropped by to say hello because he was in the area.  It was a very uplifting event.

While in Maine, we ate at a cute little restaurant and had their crab stew.  Yummy!  We spent the rest of the day shopping the outlets in this little town.  Every shop was in a house in this charming village.  We had a great time!  I am looking forward to more of these adventures!

Planting Flowers at the Rexburg Tabernacle May 23, 2015

As you may remember, I belong to the Rexburg Civic Club.  Every year we plant flowers at the Rexburg Tabernacle..  My friend Sherry Archibald is in charge of this project.  When we got there, someone from The Rexburg Standard Journal was there to take pictures and do a write up about this activity.

The funny thing is Sherry told them to not take any pictures of anybody's faces.  So she took hand shots.  When the paper came out on May 25th, there were my hands.  I know because those are my gloves.  We got a good chuckle out of this because I do NOT have a green thumb.  If any one wants an autograph you can contact me.
