Payton is a fighter. 5-22-12

This is my grandson, Payton. He is 4 1/2 month old.   He is in the Primary Children's Hospital with Botulism.  He is the son of Brock and Carrie.  He got this by breathing in dirt that had Botulism spores in it.  It damaged his nerves and detached them.  24 hours after he was diagnosed he received a serum that stopped the Botulism from doing any more damage.  His body is now working to fix the damaged nerves and reattach them.  This will be a slow process.  He will be in the hospital for 6 to 8 weeks. They say that when he is better he will be just fine with no lasting negative effects.  I have come to realize just how amazing our bodies really are.  What a blessing are body is.
Since they gave him the serum, he has been able to open his eyes,  they took the catheter out, he has been able to lift his arm almost to his mouth and he tried to smile at his Mom.  It is nice to see he is making progress, even though it is slow. There are so many blessings that Heavenly Father is giving to our family.  There are still things we need to learn through this trial, especially that we need to align our will with his and to be patient with the timing of things. I am grateful for the gospel and the peace that it brings.

I was hoping you would fill in the blanks with a blog post. Wow, you never know what challenges lie ahead. I'm glad the prognosis is a good one.
