Visiting Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts May 2015

Janet and I had a sisters trip back East.  We visited Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts.

My flight took me through the Chicago Airport.  I had about a 3 hour layover so I decided to find a good place to eat.  I stumbled onto this little gem and decided to eat here.  I had the butternut squash soup.  It was soooo delicious!  I couldn't believe I found this fancy of a restaurant in an airport.

Today,  we visited the birthplace of Joseph Smith.

The sister missionary told us that at Dartmouth College they had a 1st edition Book of Mormon that we could look at.  We were able to go check it out because the College was close to our hotel.

Tonight we attended the King Arthur Cooking School.

Janet and I in baking mode.

I can now make a lemon tart!  It was absolutely delicious!  I am now on the hunt for a tart pan.

We also made these little Madeline's!  The theme of the class was "lemon".  These were also delicious!

We attended this Women's Conference in Boston, Mass.  At the opening event, we listened to Stephanie Neilson speak.  She was very good.  Also Elder Jeffery R. Holland dropped by to say hello because he was in the area.  It was a very uplifting event.

While in Maine, we ate at a cute little restaurant and had their crab stew.  Yummy!  We spent the rest of the day shopping the outlets in this little town.  Every shop was in a house in this charming village.  We had a great time!  I am looking forward to more of these adventures!

Yellowstone Park with Family & Friends! 5-25-15

Since Tony and Wendy Spooner are in town, we called Jamie & Darla to join us for a trip to Yellowstone.

First stop, Running Bear Pancake House for a delicious breakfast! (Jamie, Darla, Clinton, Me, Tony & Wendy)

We stopped for a view of the hot pools, mud pots and this geyser was going off.

We found these Grandma and Grandpa rocking chairs at Old Faithful.

When we got back to West Yellowstone, we enjoyed the Playmill version of Mary Poppins!

We finished of the day with a game of "Barnyard"! Always a fun time when the Spooners come to town!

Mesa Falls with our friends the Spooners! 5-23-15

What to do on this rainy day?  Let's go to Mesa Falls!

We took our friends Tony and Wendy Spooner

It is always so awesome to view Mesa Falls from this vantage point!

Planting Flowers at the Rexburg Tabernacle May 23, 2015

As you may remember, I belong to the Rexburg Civic Club.  Every year we plant flowers at the Rexburg Tabernacle..  My friend Sherry Archibald is in charge of this project.  When we got there, someone from The Rexburg Standard Journal was there to take pictures and do a write up about this activity.

The funny thing is Sherry told them to not take any pictures of anybody's faces.  So she took hand shots.  When the paper came out on May 25th, there were my hands.  I know because those are my gloves.  We got a good chuckle out of this because I do NOT have a green thumb.  If any one wants an autograph you can contact me. Mother's Day May 10th 2015

My family really knows how to spoil me for Mother's Day!  Just look at the treasures they gave me!   I got to talk to Cole and the Texas grandkids too!  For Mother's Day Dinner we went out to Brock and Carrie's.  My Mom and Jimmy joined us.  We had a lovely day!

Brock and Carrie gave me these awesome phone covers and a nice card.

Tyson and Courtnie gave me a gift card from Porters and I bought the easel that holds the picture and this great clock.  They also bought me a picture that says "Don't forget to Pray"

Chelsi sent me these beautiful flowers on Saturday. She also gave me a gift card to Dillards.

Clinton gave me a wonderful card, the beautiful plant, make-up and some money for a shopping spree.

Monday morning I went to Dillards armed with my gift card and cash and bought these awesome shoes and some leggings!  I do always love a shopping spree!

Last but not least Chelsi gave me this quote that has some great words of wisdom!  It is so nice to feel so much love!

Sleepover with Payton & Braden May 8th & 9th 2015

Brock & Carrie went to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to celebrate their 5th Wedding Anniversary. Clinton is out of town, so I got to have a sleepover with Payton & Braden.  We got to eat dinner, watch the rain, hear the thunder, play with toys and read books.  We had a delightful evening!

On Saturday morning they woke up bright and early.  We had pancakes and eggs for breakfast.  Then we got dressed and loaded up their things and went to my house to spend the day.

The weather was ok so the boys got to spend some time outside playing with the tractor and car.  This is always a highlight.  Because they have different nap schedules, I got to spend one on one time with each of them.  I always enjoy this.  We also made cookies ( another highlight ).

My Laurel Class May 6th 2015

This is my Laurel Class!  My world has revolved around these girls for the past year. We have had a great year!

Tonight we had a going away party for the Seniors.  It is a bittersweet time.  I am excited for these girls to move on and have new experiences and adventures.  I am also sad because I will miss hanging out with them and learning from them.  I have come to know that when you serve others you really learn to love them.  These girls are fantastic!  Their testimonies are strong and I can see them doing great things in their lives.
Back Row: Me, Savannah Williams, Ayano (she is an exchange student,  We have really enjoyed having her in our group), Sabrina Luthy and Nakia Mattson (Laurel Advisor)
Front Row: Stacy Roberts, Michone Bingham, Morgan Casper and Mackenzie Casper.
The quilts that the girls are holding were made by Joyce Cromar.  She is a disabled lady in our ward.  She made 9 quilts for the Senior boys and girls in our ward.  She is amazing!
