Ring-Around-the-Rosie - May 5, 2011

I have been watching Kaden and Emma the last two days so Courtnie can be at the hospital with her Mom at the hospital for her surgery. We have been having all sorts of fun. We have been to the library and checked out books. We made banana bread. We have played at the "school" park. We went grocery shopping. Then Kaden wanted me to take a picture of us playing ring-around-the -rosie. Luckily, I have learned how to take pictures with the delay button. It is fun to have them come to my house and play!

Yard Work May 4, 2011

Finally, we have a lovely spring day! Clinton came home at noon and sprayed the weeds in the garden spot. After work, he mowed the lawn. Here he is pruning the lilac bushes. You can see how happy he is. He told me he just loves yard work. He has missed it. In Arizona, we had a stress free yard. There was no yard work to speak of. Just a little weeding every month or two. (He also told me he wanted to make it on my blog.) The funny thing is, Kaden wanted to get into the action. So here he is sitting on the riding lawn mower. He couldn't let Grandpa have all the fun!

Books I have been reading

Since our move, I have found myself with a little downtime. So I have turned to one of my favorite hobbies, which is reading. For our ward book club, I read "The Great Gatsby" I love the way he wrote. I am getting the movie from the Library today to watch it. This book "Letters for Emily" was really good. I cried happy tears at the end. This next book, "Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet" , was also a good read. It was about things that happened in World War II to the American Japanese people that I never heard of. Sometimes our country does things that I just don't understand. I enjoyed the book, it opened my eyes and I did cry happy tears at the end again.
I love reading! I like learning new things and I like reading different types of books. To me, it is so fun to discuss a book that I have read. The book club that I have joined is really great. The other night we had a great discussion. I enjoy the different points of view the others bring.

This just makes me smile!

If you can't tell, this is one of my salt and pepper shakers. I got it for Christmas from my sister-in-law Stacey. I have it sitting right by my stove. I keep it out all the time because it makes me smile every time I look at it. I just wanted to share it so it could make you smile too.

Hats, hats and more hats!

In honor of the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton, I am introducing these hats. They belonged to my Grandma, Helen Hedelius. I am the "Keeper of the Hats". Every so often, I take them out, look at them and try them on. I just love them. You can bet if I was invited to "the Wedding" I would be wearing one of them. Since I was not invited, I decided to blog about them instead. If you ever want to see them and try them on, just call me and make an appointment. I will be glad to share them with you.I did spent my time today viewing the Royal Wedding. This is the second time I had this opportunity. I also viewed the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer. Wow! Two Royal Weddings in my lifetime. I just love fairytales. I wish them the best and hope they don't let us down.

Easter - April 24th 2011

Chelsi came home to spend Easter with us! We had a great time. We went Easter dress shopping on Saturday. Look what we found! I guess we liked the same type of dresses.
After church, on Sunday, We all went up to Dennie and Janet's for Easter dinner in Felt, Idaho. Tyson, Courtnie, Kaden and Emma came with us. It was great spending the afternoon with all of Denni's family. We sure enjoy them. As usual, we had really good food.
On our way home we just had to stop and take a picture of the Teton's with all this snow. Isn't is beautiful? We really missed the snow covered mountains.
